2. Installation

2.1 How to obtain Kcheat

Kcheat can be found at kcheat.sourceforge.net.

2.2 Requirements

You'll need KDE, and a Linux-like OS that publishes a /proc/(pid)/maps file. If your OS of choice doesn't have a /proc/(pid)/maps, the Kcheat project would appriciate you sending in a patch so Kcheat can get a process's memory mappings on your system.

2.3 Compilation and installation

In order to compile and install Kcheat on your system, type the following in the base directory of the Kcheat distribution:

% ./configure
% make
% make install

Since Kcheat uses

autoconf
you should have not trouble compiling it. Should you run into problems please report them to the project's forums or bug tracking system at kcheat.sourceforge.net.
